The 5'9" Black male was wearing a black tracksuit and red and white sneakers when he wandered off near Split Rock Road around 8:15 a.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
The department deployed its drone unit and updated its social media accounts to notify the public.
At 10:20 a.m., Officer Jason Hall spotted the boy safely walking along Farview Avenue, about half a mile away from home, the chief said.
